Fire Incident

According to the National Fire Protection Association, there are approximately 220,000 vehicle fires in the US:

• EV fires are much less common than gas powered vehicles.

• EV fires are complex and require specialized training for firefighters.

• The vehicle shown above is a gas-powered BMW but was reported as an EV fire.

• The media gets things wrong often.

• Notice the projectile explosions during the incident. These are high pressure components exploding under intense heat, not battery cells.
